Funded Activity Summary

A gas chromatography-high resolution accurate mass spectrometry facility. This project aims to establish a state-of-the-art gas chromatograph-based, high-resolution and high-accuracy mass spectrometer facility. The ability to effectively identify small molecules of natural or synthetic origin is essential in supporting the sustainable use of chemicals in society. A dedicated facility for gas chromatography-based high resolution mass spectrometry will facilitate significant improvements in the identification of small molecules that interact with biological systems and lead to improved characterisation of beneficial and harmful chemicals. Expected outcomes include the discovery of new chemical products, assuring the availability of safe food and water, protecting the environment and informing future developments in global health care.
