Abstract: The purpose of the study is to determine and prioritize the resilient capability factors at different stages of supply chain disruptions in Pakistan's textile industry. The study employs a two-stage methodology. In the first stage, the extant literature was reviewed, and based on that, experts' panel consultations were conducted to identify the resilient capability factors at the different stages of supply chain. In the second stage, analytical hierarchy process (AHP) methodology was used to rank the resilient capability factors needed in Pakistan's textile industry. The results show that building an integrated supply chain ranking is one of the most critical practices in bolstering supply chain resilience. The results also reveal that firms should focus on the readiness phase of resilience as it is categorized as the most important phase. The findings of the study provide supply chain professionals with a clear consideration of the critical factors that are needed to build supply chain resilience. From an industry-specific perspective, the study offers guidelines on what resilient capability factors should be regarded as critical when implementing resilient capabilities in order to reduce the negative impacts of disruptions. The study is among the first studies in prioritizing the resilient capability factors at different phases of supply chain disruptions. The study would provide further opportunities for future researchers in using other multicriteria decision-making tools.

Abstract: This study investigates the significant factors affecting the adoption of light emitting diode lighting among households in Malaysia by conceptualizing and extending the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology through the adaptation of price value and the anticipated emotions of pride and guilt within the model. This study used the partial least squares technique to validate measurements and to test the research hypotheses. The results obtained from analysing 1075 valid survey questionnaires revealed the effects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy and price value on the intention to use light-emitting diodes among Malaysian households. While the results support the mediating role of attitude between the three variables and intention to use light-emitting diodes, the moderating role of anticipated pride on the relationship between attitude and intention to use light-emitting diodes was not supported. The findings confirm that guilt significantly moderates the relationship between attitude and intention.

Abstract: The general improvement of socio-economic conditions has resulted in people becoming more educated to make better-informed decisions in health related matters. In idual's perspective on health increases with better understanding of ways to improve lifestyle for better health and living. With the increase in lifestyle related diseases that lead to health problems, there is an increase in the availability of healthcare information. Thus, it is important to identify the factors that influence information seeking behaviour in the area of healthcare and lifestyle. This exploratory study examines the relationship between the factors that affect online health information-seeking behaviour among healthcare product in the capital city of Malaysia. Survey questionnaire was used to collect empirical data. A survey was conducted among 300 healthcare consumers in three main cities in Malaysia where questionnaires were personally distributed through snowball s ling. A total of 271 questionnaire forms were used in the analysis. Health Behaviour of the consumers influences Health Information Seeking Behaviour. And this relationship is strongly affected by Gender whereby the affect is strongly among females compared to males. The findings indicate that Health Behaviour influences Health Information Seeking Behaviour. Marketers can find out which target segment of population to target when devising information channels for consumers, especially through the Internet. However, message that promotes positive health behaviour to a target audience who already has positive Health Behaviour increase the motivation to Health Information Seeking Behaviour.

Abstract: In Malaysia, a number of programs and initiatives have been introduced to increase computer ownership and ensure universal access among the population. A survey among households was conducted to study the impact of ICT and computers on Malaysian society. The survey was carried out to examine the level of domestic computer usage and identify the common activities associated with computers among the households. The study found differences in terms of age and income groups towards their level of computer usage. Malaysian teenagers are heavy domestic computer users in comparison to the other age categories. As expected, the high income people are also heavy domestic computer users. Interestingly, the study has found that computers are being used domestically for personal and household purposes such as entertainment rather than enhancing the flow of information among households and business organizations.

Abstract: This paper focuses on examining the ICT diffusion by studying an initiative of the Malaysian government to bridge the digital ide that exists across the country's urban and rural communities. This is achieved through investigating the operation and the experience of a typical Rural Internet Centre. The findings of this study showed that there is keen interest among the community to learn and sharpen their ICT-related skills. The Internet Centre serves to provide an avenue for the realisation of this goal. The study showed that despite some operational snags, the Internet Centre performed well. One of the by-products of the centre was that its activities fostered closer relationships among users it provided an avenue for disparate community members to interact and share their new skills. Bringing the ICT usage and appreciation to the rural areas was successful. About half of the centre users made weekly visits during which they searched for information on the internet, sent and received e-mail and attended the Internet Centre's regular IT classes. They also saw it as a valuable communication channel and a potential leveller of the technological capability gap.

Abstract: In today’s fast changing world, the Internet plays a major role in people’s lives. Apart from its benefits, the Internet also has serious negative consequences which include the issue of Internet addiction. This study explores the role of demographics (e.g., age, gender, and occupational position) in relation to Internet addiction. In addition, the influence of in idual psychological variables (loneliness, shyness, and proactive personality) on Internet addiction was also examined. A structured questionnaire consisting of items representing loneliness, shyness, proactiveness, Internet addiction, and demographics was used to collect the data from 1,000 working adults in selected organizations. Chi-square tests were used to investigate the effect of gender, age, and occupational positions on Internet addiction. The influence of variables such as loneliness, shyness, and proactiveness on Internet addiction was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrated no significant differences in terms of Internet addiction between the genders. However, significant differences were found in Internet addiction depending on age and occupational positions. The study also found positive relationship between loneliness, shyness, proactiveness, and Internet addiction. The findings of this study add empirical evidence to the existing literature in respect of the correlation between age, gender, occupational position, psychological characteristics (loneliness, shyness, and proactiveness), and Internet addiction.

Abstract: – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors that influence Facebook usage among small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In addition, it examines the impact of Facebook usage on financial and non-financial performance of the SMEs. – Using integrated model, this study examined the influence of compatibility, cost effectiveness, interactivity and trust on Facebook usage and its subsequent impact on organizations performance. Statistical analyses were based on the data collected, through survey questionnaire from 259 SMEs in Malaysia. Partial Least Square (PLS) method was used to test the hypotheses. – The study revealed that Facebook usage has a strong positive impact on financial performance of SMEs similarly it was also found that Facebook usage positively impacts the non-financial performance of SMEs in terms of cost reduction on marketing and customer service, improved customer relations and improved information accessibility. Additionally, factors such as compatibility, cost effectiveness and interactivity was identified as factors that influence Facebook usage among SMEs. – This study is limited in selection of s les. The s le only covered one community of SME in Malaysia which limits generalizability of the findings. This study provided a clearer idea on the real importance of Facebook and its benefits. The results would motivate and guide organizations in the adoption of Facebook for business activities. The study also has various theoretical and practical contributions. – Very few empirical studies investigated the actual impact of Facebook usage among organizations. This study investigated the effect of Facebook usage on the financial performance of the organizations which is really important to study as it reveals the exact value of using Facebook for business activities.

Abstract: This paper examines study efficiency and time distortion experienced by student users of YouTube. Using multi-group structural equation modelling on data from 792 Malaysian university students, the study identified links between YouTube use motivation, conscientiousness (a personality trait), time distortion, and perceived study efficiency. It also shows how these characteristics and the links between them varied when students were grouped by pattern of use, defined (using two-step cluster analysis) as occasional, regular, or problematic. Time distortion had a negative effect on perceived study efficiency, but conscientiousness counteracted this effect - particularly for occasional users, the only group with positive perceived study efficiency in this study. Motivation to use YouTube for learning was not associated with time distortion, whilst using YouTube for escape and entertainment increased motivation. Occasional users were less motivated than others to use YouTube for these purposes and therefore less likely to experience the entertainment use flow on effects of time distortion to perceived study efficiency. Implications for practice or policy: Motivating students to use YouTube for learning is unlikely to reduce study efficiency. Use of diagnostic tools to understand a student's pattern of social media use, as well as motivation for use, personality and sense of time distortion, could help advisers identify reasons for low study efficiency. Digital literacy education focused on increasing self-discipline and goal-orientation could help students reduce poorly controlled use of social media for entertainment and escape, and hence improve study efficiency.
