Abstract: Practicum is an essential part of the student learning process. It promotes strengthening scientific process skills to students. On the other hand, limited access in experiencing hands-on activities requires serious attention due to the characteristics of a distance education system that restrains face-to-face activities in student learning. For this reason, a virtual lab is necessary to meet the needs of students to comprehend the functions of scientific actions while their learning. The paper will discuss the role of a virtual lab in the Biology practicum in Universitas Terbuka (UT). This paper is a meta-analysis study involving preliminary data of UT students who attended biology practicum courses during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research recommends using the virtual Lab to advance biological knowledge in biology practicum and Virtual Reality as suitable for urogenital system material. The use of 3D simulation in Virtual Reality should provide an exciting and meaningful learning experience for students.

Abstract: Collaborative skills merupakan kompetensi atau keahlian yang harus dimiliki oleh br / seseorang di abad 21. Sementara itu kompetensi pedagogik merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang wajib dikuasai oleh seorang guru berkenaan dengan karakteristik peserta didik dilihat dari berbagai aspek fisik, moral, sosial, kultural, emosional, dan intelektual. Oleh karena itu diharapkan kedua hal ini dapat berpengaruh langsung terhadap kinerja siswa. Collaborative skills dan kompetensi pedagogik guru dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan kinerja siswa. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui pengaruh collaborative skills terhadap kinerja siswa (2) Mengetahui pengaruh br / kompetensi pedagogik guru terhadap kinerja siswa dan (3) Mengetahui pengaruh antara collaborative skills dan kompetensi pedagogik guru terhadap kinerja siswa Sekolah Dasar di Gugus 10 Kecamatan Pamulang. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. S el dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Purposive S ling sehingga menghasilkan jumlah s el sebanyak 48 orang. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Teknik analisa yang digunakan adalah metode regresi linier berganda. Hasil deskripsi pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial (uji t): (1) variabel collaborative skills (X1) berpengaruh terhadap kinerja br / siswa (Y) dengan nilai thitung = 2,233 atau 22,33 % lebih besar dibandingkan dengan ttabel = 2,012. Artinya, bahwa variabel collaborative skills berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja siswa. (2) Variabel kompetensi pedagogik br / guru berpengaruh terhadap kinerja siswa (Y) dengan nilai t hitung= 4,239 atau 42,39 % lebih besar dari ttabel = 2,012. (3) Hasil uji hipotesis secara simultan (uji F) collaborative skills dan kompetensi pedagogik guru secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap kinerja siswa dengan nilai Fhitung lebih besar dari Ftabel sebesar 3,20 atau 17, 058 & 3,20. Koefisien determinasi (adjused đť‘…2) 0,431 atau 43,1%, dan sisanya sebesar 56,9% merupakan kontribusi variabel bebas lainnya.

Abstract: Virtual laboratory (VLab) has been observed for its function for the merit of online course delivery. It is believed that the existence of VLab may enhance students’ academic achievements. However, the study which researches its impact on the students’ independence is still limited. This systematic review study aims to determine students’ self-regulated learning (SRL) on the use of VLab by implementing PICOS (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Study Design). Further, we examined whether the strategies of SRL, such as cognitive, metacognitive, motivational, behavioral, and contextual strategies owned by students at higher education levels, increased because of leveraging the VLab. We identified 267 articles from Scopus and the Web of Science databases, then utilized the PRISMA guidelines to specify the 249 eligible articles. As a result, only 20 articles passed the criteria of the feasibility stage (1) higher education level, (2) informing online learning, (3) containing materials discussing VLab, and (4) representing the concept of SRL. However, the finding showed that all interventions had positively affected students’ performance. Based on the analyzed data, we confirm that VLab can be considered for providing the learning experience since it bridges the gap between students’ prior knowledge and experience and provides an active social experience.

Abstract: This work presents a low-cost and disposable paper based microfluidic system for detection of uric acid and blood in urine simultaneously. Detection is achieved by using a colorimetric or visual indicator. Immobilized specific reagents designed for the parameter under consideration act as capture molecules on the surface of the detection zone of a microfluidic system made of paper (cellulose). Fe-(III)tris-(1,10)-phenantroline and Tetramethylbenzidinecumene hydroperoxide and have been immobilized using absorption method for blood and uric acid detection respectively. For blood detection, the detection zone will be change from pale blue to dark blue, due to presence of hemoglobin, which in turn, resulted in oxidized reaction of tetramethylbenzidine by cumene hydroperoxide. While for uric acid detection zone, the color change from yellow to orange/red due to complexation of Fe(III)tris-(1,10)-phenantroline with uric acid in urine s le. The capability of lab on paper for detection of blood and uric acid in urine s les has been demonstrate successfully.

Abstract: At this time, the number of students of elementary school teacher programs at the Universitas Terbuka (UT) in one study group as many as 20-30 people in some places there is a tendency challenging to be fulfilled. This challenge because most elementary school teachers already have a bachelor's degree. Meanwhile, the location of students at this time tends to be increasingly scattered with distant geographical areas, so it is necessary to provide a particular service called the Non-Face to Face Tutorial Package System (NFFTPS) for Practical/Practicum courses. The s le in this study was the undergraduate students of elementary school teacher programs in the regional office of Pangkalpinang, Serang, Bandung, Denpasar, Ambon, amounting to 75 respondents. This research is categorized as a qualitative descriptive study. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the NFFTPS program has been implemented quite well. However, in its implementation, there are still many obstacles encountered and need to be refined in the future. Besides, there is a need for a synergy of academic guidance services for NFFTPS programs in regional office and UT central so that they can provide quality, appropriate, timely, and targeted services.

Abstract: This article aims to analyse elementary school teacher readines to become a self- regulated students and their learning style in open university. The research was conducted in 2015 through descriptive qualitative research method. Respondents were determined through purposive s ling techniques determination, that is, the first semester students at the Study Program of Elementary School Teacher (PGSD). Data were obtained through a questionnaire survey on self-directed learning readiness and learning style which was administered to 279 respondents in Bandung Regional Office (UPBJJ) of Indonesia Open University. As a follow up to the questionnaire survey, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted to make in-depth analyses on the results of the research gained through the questionnaire survey. FGD focused on the extent of student self-directed learning readiness. The results show that the students in their first semester had a moderate selfdirected learning readiness category. Trough FGD results, it was apparent that the they generally expected direct learning guidances from a tutor in a face to face learning environment throughout their study at the university. The result notified that auditory was the tendency of the student teachers’ learning styles. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan analisis tentang kesiapan belajar mandiri dan gaya belajar guru yang menjadi mahasiswa di Universitas Terbuka. Penelitian dilakukan tahun 2015 dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Responden penelitian ditetapkan melalui teknik penetapan s el secara purposif, yaitu guru yang menjadi mahasiswa pada semester pertama pada program studi S-1 Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan - Universitas Terbuka (PGSD, FKIP-UT). Data diperoleh melalui survei (kuesioner) yang diberikan kepada 279 mahasiswa guru yang teregistrasi di Unit Program Belajar Jarak Jauh - Universitas Terbuka (UPBJJ-UT) Bandung. Hasil survei kemudian ditindaklanjuti dengan diskusi kelompok terpimpin (Focus Group Discussion - FGD untuk mendalami hasil penelitian yang diperoleh melalui survei. FGD memfokuskan pendalaman pada fasilitasi layanan kesiapan belajar mahasiswa guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemandirian mahasiswa guru berada pada kategori ‘sedang’. Sementara itu, dari aspek gaya belajar, mahasiswa guru memiliki kecenderungan belajar auditori. Hal ini ditegaskan melalui FGD bahwa mereka umumnya masih mengharapkan adanya fasilitasi layanan belajar berupa pembimbingan langsung oleh tutor secara tatap muka selama studi di UT. Temuan tersebut diperkuat adanya kecenderungan gaya belajar mahasiswa guru yang didominasi secara auditori.Â

Abstract: The teaching and learning process of natural science cannot be separated from practicum activities. Likewise, the practicum activities of natural science in bachelor of Elementary School Teacher Education Program have their own characteristics. This study aims at examining the use of Natural Science Kits in the implementation of the practicum of natural sciences with the provisions contained in the practicum of natural sciences college subject of bachelor of Elementary School Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Terbuka. This study is categorized as a qualitative descriptive research. This study involved 177 undergraduate students of bachelor of Elementary School Teacher Education Program, UT, which is spread across five (5) regional offices of UT, and it conducted from March to December 2018. The results of this study showed that it can be concluded that the practicum of natural science in elementary schools can be carried out using the Natural Science Kits belonging to bachelor of Elementary School Teacher Education Program, UT, although the Natural Science Kits and its management activities still needs to be improved and refined.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to analyze effectivity of inquiry model with scientific approach and experimental methods to collecting data in learning science for elementary school students. The approach used is a quantitative pre-experimental design that uses one experimental class. Data were collected using tests at the beginning and the end of the treatment, observations during learning and questionnaires at the end of the treatment which were then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. Based on the analysis of learning outcomes data obtained an increase in scores from pretest to posttest in the high category with a gain value of 0.70339. In addition, based on the t test, the sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 .05 which shows that the average posttest meets the KKM score and 92% of students fulfill the classical learning mastery. Based on the observations obtained, 85.3% of students' activity was positive when learning and 84.16% of students gave positive responses regarding learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that the inquiry model with scientific approach and the experimental method to collecting data is effective in elementary school science learning

Abstract: Perkembangan arus globalisasi menuntut kemajuan dan perubahan di setiap aspek kehidupan. Kemajuan harus ditunjang dengan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas yang memiliki kreativitas dan inovasi, kompetensi yang unggul, dan kualitas pribadi. Kualitas tersebut tercipta dari proses pendidikan yang baik di lingkungan sekolah. Di Abad 21, sektor pendidikan harus menyesuaikan diri terhadap perubahan. Guru perlu meningkatkan keter ilan, kreativitas dan inovasi. Komitmen guru terhadap organisasinya merupakan sebuah kondisi yang dirasakan oleh guru yang dapat menimbulkan perubahan perilaku secara kuat terhadap sekolahnya. Rendahnya komitmen guru untuk melakukan perubahan akan menimbulkan d ak yang kurang baik pada produktivitas dan prestasi sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk menguji pengaruh creativity and innovation skills dan komitmen guru terhadap prestasi sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kecamatan Pesanggrahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Creativity and innovation skills dan komitmen guru berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi sekolah. Pengaruh tersebut terlihat dari nilai koefisiensi sebesar sebesar 0,000 0,05 dan nilai F hitung 9,286 F tabel 3,14. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa creativity and innovation skills dan komitmen guru berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi sekolah pada sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Pesanggrahan.

Abstract: The paper reports a study that was intended to develop a self-assessment instrument to measure high school students' readiness for pursuing independent online learning. The instrument was developed through the following steps: (1) developing the draft, (2) checking the instrument's face validity and (3) testing the instrument's validity, reliability and discriminant capacity using PLS analysis. The study has developed a tool to self-assess high school students' readiness for independent online learning. The instrument consists of 36 statement items and is statistically proven to have good reliability, construct and indicator validity and a discriminating power. The instrument items were designed to fit the context of Indonesian high school students. However, only responses from high school students in rather urban areas were used to test the validity and reliability of the instrument. This could imply that the instrument is only accurate in urban settings. As a result of the research, a tool to assess high school students' readiness for independent online learning has been created. To better prepare students for independent online learning endeavors, the school might use the results to enhance areas that need improvement. The study succeeded in developing a contextualized self-assessment tool for measuring Indonesian students' independent online learning readiness.

Abstract: Between 2010 and 2015, nocardiosis outbreaks caused by Nocardia seriolae affected many permit farms throughout Vietnam, causing mass fish mortalities. To understand the biology, origin and epidemiology of these outbreaks, 20 N . seriolae strains collected from farms in four provinces in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam, along with two Taiwanese strains, were analysed using genetics and genomics. PFGE identified a single cluster amongst all Vietnamese strains that was distinct from the Taiwanese strains. Like the PFGE findings, phylogenomic and SNP genotyping analyses revealed that all Vietnamese N. seriolae strains belonged to a single, unique clade. Strains fell into two subclades that differed by 103 SNPs, with almost no ersity within clades (0–5 SNPs). There was no association between geographical origin and subclade placement, suggesting frequent N. seriolae transmission between Vietnamese mariculture facilities during the outbreaks. The Vietnamese strains shared a common ancestor with strains from Japan and China, with the closest strain, UTF1 from Japan, differing by just 220 SNPs from the Vietnamese ancestral node. Draft Vietnamese genomes range from 7.55 to 7.96 Mbp in size, have an average G+C content of 68.2 % and encode 7 602–7958 predicted genes. Several putative virulence factors were identified, including genes associated with host cell adhesion, invasion, intracellular survival, antibiotic and toxic compound resistance, and haemolysin biosynthesis. Our findings provide important new insights into the epidemiology and pathogenicity of N. seriolae and will aid future vaccine development and disease management strategies, with the ultimate goal of nocardiosis-free aquaculture.
