Abstract: Background: In their duties, health care workers, especially nurses, have a high risk of being infected with COVID-19 both from patients and non-patients. Some nurses who are infected need to be treated and isolated in the hospital. It is important to understand nurses’ experiences during isolation as this could change the way they provide nursing care for COVID-19 patients in the future. However, this topic has not been studied in Indonesia.Purpose: This study aimed to explore the experience of nurses who were isolated in the hospital due to COVID-19 infection. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using a descriptive phenomenological approach. The participants were nurses who had been hospitalized in an isolation room, selected through purposive s ling. Data saturation was reached on the 7th participant, and a total of 7 nurses who were infected with COVID-19 participated. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. Results: Data analysis resulted in three main themes: (1) Experience at diagnosis (Pre-isolation), with sub-themes: initial reaction, source/origin of infection, early symptoms, and reactions from family and close people (2) Experiences during isolation, with sub-themes: Feelings in isolation rooms, body reactions to covid-19 therapy, medical response and swab results and (3) Post-isolation experiences, with sub-themes: post-covid conditions, expectations for other covid patients, and expectations for medical personnel. Conclusion: This study identified nurses’ experience of COVID-19 pre-isolation, isolation and post-isolation. Support from family members, colleagues and leaders are essential for their healing process. Appropriate care planning and approaches are expected to support nurses infected with COVID-19.

Abstract: The aim of this integrative review was to assess how emergency nurses cope and motivate themselves to sustain their caring work. The need to enhance sustainability of the workforce creates a demand to consolidate contemporary evidence related to emergency nurses’ motivations, how they cope and sustain themselves for caring work. The integrative literature review informed by Whittemore and Knafl involved searching four databases, which yielded 977 published research papers (2008–2021). A total of 33 studies met the inclusion and quality assessment criteria. The PRISMA checklist for review was followed. No studies addressing all three areas (motivations, coping and caring sustainability) together were identified. Integration of evidence from quantitative and qualitative research was achieved in three categories: (1) emergency nurses’ motivations to sustain their work, (2) emergency nurses’ coping strategies and (3) sustaining care as emergency nurses. To sustain themselves in caring work, emergency nurses need to be intrinsically and extrinsically motivated and know how to cope effectively with stressors and work demands. There is need for research examining the relationships between these aspects of emergency nursing work. To ensure the sustainability of emergency nurses’ work and careers understanding of the factors that influence and sustain their motivations and coping strategies is important for nurses and their clinical leaders and managers.

Abstract: Abstract Nursing students have the potential for violence in places where they carry out their clinical practice, both in hospitals and in communities. The competence of nursing students needs to be reviewed to see their readiness before, time, and after events. This study aims to measure the competence of students of the profession nurse (Ners) to face violence at hospitals. The study is a descriptive quantitative study, with a s le number of 55 students of the profession nurse. The analysis using the management questionnaire of genealogical violence scale (MWVCS) indicates that students of the profession have a high level of competence and a high level of competence. The factors that indicate very high competence are 'after the violence in the hospital' and 'the interactions between nurses and patients. While the factors that indicate high competence are 'response to violence', 'cognitive to violence', 'exploiting facilities of protection', 'improving knowledge', and 'risk assessment'. Nursing education needs to prepare the student to anticipate a violent episode and teach them how to anticipate the violence. Keywords: Competency factors, nursing students, workplace violence Abstrak Mahasiswa keperawatan memiliki potensi mengalami kekerasan di tempat dimana mereka melaksanakan praktik klinisnya, baik di rumah sakit maupun di komunitas.
