Abstract: Coral recruitment is the entry of new coral in iduals into coral reef populations due to reproduction or migration. Juvenile coral is the result of metamorphosis and growth of coral planula measuring 5 cm and attached to certain substrates. There are two types of substrates in the waters, stable substrates and unstable substrates such as rubble. The purpose of this study was to study hard coral recruitment, both in terms of density, the composition of juvenile coral colony types, size, and the type of substrate occupied by juvenile corals. This research was conducted in August 2021 in the waters of Molas, Bunaken District, Manado City. The method used for site selection is the purposive s ling method and data collection using a s ling method with quadrant transects. The results showed that the density of coral recruitment at the study site was 8,43 colonies/m2. The percentage of juvenile coral attachment on stable substrates is 90% and 10% on unstable substrates. The average size of juvenile corals at the study site was 2.4cm. The composition of the juvenile coral genus found at the research site were corals of the genus Acropora, Anacropora, Coeloseris, Cycloseris, Cyphastrea, Echinopora, Favites, Fungia, Galaxea, Goniastrea, Isopora, Leptastrea, Leptoseris, Lobophyllia, Merulina, Montastrea, Montipora, Oulophyllia, Pachyseris, Pavona, Platygyra, Plasiastrea, Pocillopora, Porites, Psammocora, Scolymia, Seriatopora, Symphyllia, and Trachyphyllia. Of the entire genus, corals of the genus Porites were dominated by the number of juveniles as many as 36 colonies. Keywords: Molas, coral, recruitment, ScleractiniaAbstrakRekrutmen karang adalah masuknya in idu karang baru pada populasi terumbu karang dikarenakan reproduksi ataupun migrasi. Abstract: This study aims to analyze the relation of marine debris to gastropods in the mangrove ecosystem. This research was conducted from October to December 2019 in the Tongkaina mangrove forest. The method used in this research is the line transects method with 2 different stations. Then do the data analysis of waste density, gastropod abundance index, frequency, ersity index, uniformity, and dominance. Then, analyzing a simple linear regression and correlation is performed to see the relationship between marine debris and gastropod abundance in a mangrove ecosystem. The results showed that the highest inorganic marine debris in the Tongkeina mangrove ecosystem is plastic and followed by cloth, wood, metal and the least was glass. The species of Gastropods found in the mangrove ecosystem are Littoraria scabra, Nerita undulata and Terebralia sulcata. The highest abundance of gastropod species was found at station 2 in transects 1 by Littoraria scraba. The results of the linear regression analysis show that there is a relationship between waste and abundance of gastropods. The increasing amount of waste, lower the abundance of gastropods. Where the correlation value is -0.20506.Keywords: Correlation Marine debris Gastropods Mangrove Ecosystem. Abstract: Coral reefs are coastal ecosystems with the highest level of ersity with about one million species worldwide and are habitats for assemblages of millions of polyps that produce limestone to form their skeletons and develop into vast expanses of colonies. Corals are invertebrates belonging to the phylum Coelenterata (hollow animals) or Cnidaria. In order to preserve the coral reef ecosystem in the future in the Bahowo area, quantitative data is needed that can explain/describe the condition of coral reefs. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of coral reefs, in this case, data on coral cover and associated biota in Bahowo waters. The data collection of this research used the UPT (Underwater Photo Transect) method. Analysis of the data in the form of research images using the CPCe (Coral Point Count with Excel extensions) application. The results of the analysis of the condition of coral reefs in Bahowo waters are in the damaged/bad category with live coral cover percentage data of 16.33%.Keywords: Live coral cover Underwater photo transect (UPT) Coral reef condition Bahowo watersAbstrakTerumbu karang merupakan ekosistem pesisir dengan tingkat keanekaragaman tertinggi dengan jumlah sekitar satu juta spesies di seluruh dunia dan merupakan habitat bagi kumpulan dari berjuta-juta hewan polip yang menghasilkan zat kapur membentuk skeletonnya dan berkembang menjadi h aran koloni yang luas. Abstract: Coral reefs are one of the most productive and erse ecosystems on earth and provide ecosystem services. One of the islands of the Seribu Islands that has a coral reef ecosystem is Tidung Island. It is strategic and developing location makes this island used as a residential area, conservation area, and tourist destination. But the utilization has an impact on the damage of coral reefs through environmental and anthropogenic pressures. This study aims to determine coral ersity by identifying the coral genus Scleractinia and the factors that affect coral ersity. Observations were done on three different stations include 2 snorkeling areas and 1 natural area. The method used is LIT (Line Intercept Transect) and coral genus identification with Coral Finder Toolkit Indo Pacific 3.0. The results of identification obtained 16 coral genera namely genus Acropora, Montipora, Isopora, Favites, Leptastrea, Favia, Goniastrea, Montastrea, Platygyra, Echinopora, Porites, Pocillopora, Stylophora, Ctenactis, Pavona, dan Symphyllia, with the value of Diversity Index (H') in the waters of Tidung Island ranges from 0.94 – 2.34 in the category of low to moderate ersity. The parameters of water quality in Tidung Island, temperature, salinity, and acidity (pH) are relatively good for coral growth, but brightness is still relatively poor for coral growth. The impact of human activities such as snorkeling, ship anchors, fishing with destroyers, oil and waste pollution, and rock mining are factors that affect coral growth and ersity.
