Abstract: Anaemia causes athletes to tire easily and decrease fitness due to physical activity, exercise, physiological and psychological stress, and environmental conditions. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes towards anaemia of petanque athletes in Makassar. A cross-sectional descriptive study, using a questionnaire, was conducted on thirty petanque athletes in Makassar. Descriptive statistics were used to elaborate on the demographic characteristics, knowledge, and attitude’s respondents. Pearson correlation was used to identify the relationship between variables. Seventeen (56.7%) male respondents with an average age of 21.53±4.13 years and thirteen (43.3%) female respondents with an average age of 20.08±2.12 years. There are 46.7% have moderate and 36.7% have poor knowledge about anaemia. Almost respondents (96.7%) have a slightly positive attitude regarding anaemia. A significant and positive correlation between knowledge-attitude (r=0.317, p .05) was observed. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes related to anaemia in petanque athletes. The positive and significant correlation reaffirms that better knowledge can lead to positive attitudes. This will further assist in the prevention and management of anaemia in sports. Therefore, an extensive health and sports education c aign should be provided to the general athlete population and petanque athletes.

Abstract: The pandemic of COVID-19 has created the "New Normal" lifestyle and limited people to performing their daily activities from home. These changes in turn affect the level of physical activities, including the intention to engage in regular exercise, in most people, subsequently putting them at risk of having negative effects due to being physically inactive. This condition may down regulate the human immune system, making it more vulnerable to various diseases. Oral supplementation of fish oil has been proposed to have benefits for decreasing pro-inflammatory markers induced by exercise. This study aimed to analyze the effect of fish oil supplementation on the degree of fatigue perception following submaximal exercise. Forty-four male college students participated in this non-equivalent pre-posttest experimental research. The participants were supplemented with 2 soft capsules of 1.5 grams of fish oil for 8 weeks. The effect of submaximal exercise was carried out by the sit-up and bleep tests, which were measured before and after 8 weeks of fish oil supplementation. The research procedure was approved by the ethics committee of the Makassar State University research institute. The results showed that there was a strong relationship between the administration of fish oil supplements and the level of fatigue perception following sit-ups and bleep tests (p values of -0.529 and -0.658, respectively) performed during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study concludes that the administration of fish oil supplementation affects the degree of fatigue perception after doing submaximal exercise, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract: Stunting is a disorder of growth and development of children due to chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections, especially in the first 1000 days of life. The negative impact of stunting on children, especially on the development of fine motor skills and cognitive abilities, including speech delays, but how stunting is related to speech delay in children has yet to be clearly understood due to restricted existing research and studies. This narrative review explains possible biomechanisms on how stunting causes speech delays in children.

Abstract: Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus are the most common causes of Metabolic Syndrome, one of which leads to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Risk factors associated with this condition are diet and nutritional knowledge. This study aims to determine differences in nutritional intake and nutritional knowledge in patients with kidney disease on hemodialysis who have comorbid hypertension and/or diabetes mellitus and/or both. The number of respondents in this cross-sectional study was 27 outpatients undergoing hemodialysis at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang, taken by consecutive s ling which met the inclusion criteria. The variables studied were dietarily obtained from the SQ-FFQ and nutritional knowledge was obtained from interviews using a questionnaire form containing questions related to diet, food consumed, restricted foods, and foods to avoid. The results showed that 17 hemodialysis patients suffered from hypertension and 10 patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus. There was no difference in dietary intake between the hypertension group and hypertension and the diabetes mellitus group (p .05), the results of the analysis of nutritional knowledge also showed no difference between the two groups (p .05). This study concluded that hemodialysis patients who experienced hypertension and hypertension with Diabetes Mellitus did not show differences in dietary intake and nutritional knowledge.
