Abstract: Os bares têm desempenhado um papel importante no contexto turístico de ersos destinos.

Abstract: The production of information for decision-making in tourism is a sensitive and crucial issue that lacks appropriate instruments for its good management and efficient use. Over the last few years, the tourism observatories have gained relevance as they are institutional resources that allow the monitoring of tourism performance while providing public and private managers with information for better decision-making based on data. However, there is a lack of studies that try to compress the determining elements of these instruments. To fill this gap, this study builds a conceptual model of tourism observatories, considering the stakeholders involved, possible products derived from the ordering of data produced by the observatories and results derived from the efficient use of these instruments. The model derived from this study will allow us to understand the determinant elements of observatories, provide a taxonomic basis that can be used to assess the activities of observatories, and serve as a basis for the creation of new observatories.

Abstract: Tourists harm the destination's environment in many different ways. Behavioural economics (BE) contributes to the formulation of public and private policies to reduce this harm, and its use is growing in the tourism industry. The nudging agenda is converging with tourism, with managers and policymakers realising that the implementation of nudges leads to lower costs and higher effectiveness of behavioural changes, decreasing the harm produced by tourists. However, little effort has been made to comprehend the relationship between nudges and tourism sustainability. To fill this gap, this paper systematises the literature on nudge interventions in tourism and sustainability studies. Our results present the main disciplinary background used in these investigations, with Anglo-Saxon countries leading research on green nudges. The methodological approach adopted by the nudge studies is limited, and causal evidence is lacking. The thematic analysis categorises the interventions and supports the idea that nudges target both unconscious and conscious behaviours. The preferred interventions are the ones with a low-cost application, such as bed linen reuse. Social norms are the main trigger for developing hypotheses and designing nudges. Our study also presents the mediators and moderators of pro-environmental behaviours (PEBs) and develops a model to design nudges in the tourism industry. Theoretical, managerial contributions and suggestions for future studies are also discussed.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic brought the production process to a halt in the tourist chain, directly impacting the economic sphere and marketing communication between organizations in the segment and their interested public. The present work aims to identify whether the communication through the Instagram posts of the multinational hotel chain Accor was adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic scenario between December 2019 and June 2020 and the followers' level of engagement in its digital profile. The more-than-human netnography proposed by Lugosi & Quinton (2018) was adopted as a methodological approach, having as object of analysis the posts of the profile @all_latam (Accor América Latina) on Instagram and the behavior of the followers. We identified a follower appreciation regarding COVID-19 material. Therefore, hotel companies should produce crisis content related to increasing engagement on Social media posts.

Abstract: In the past decade, we could see a myriad of efforts in fostering rural development. Two critical elements in travel, tourism, and leisure activities are the traveler's wellbeing and resident's welfare, which are inherent factors of rural tourism. Despite the importance of rural areas to tourism development, the focus of the studies on wellbeing usually is resident or employee oriented. There is a lack of inquiries trying to understand the relationship between rural tourism and welfare on tourism. In this sense, this study aims to connect the topics on welfare and tourism in rural areas to provide a theoretical starting point for future studies. The authors unravel essential elements in the pursuit of enhancing tourist's welfare on rural tourism by providing a visual conceptual model that provides guidelines for tourism stakeholders to enhance tourists' welfare while mitigating negative crisis impacts. They expose the central elements of the graphical model and the actions required to enhance welfare on rural tourism as well as their interrelationships.
