Abstract: The study aimed to determine the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Program's implementation landscape in the Division of Dapitan City, Philippines, through the support mechanism's lens to instruction, teachers' attitude, and best practices. It utilized survey and correlational methods of research using a questionnaire checklist. Results revealed that ALS instruction's high support mechanism was small and positively low but significantly related to the teachers' highly positive attitudes towards work and the teachers' best practices in implementing the program. However, room for more significant improvement is deemed essential to raise the high to very high support since the teachers as implementers of the program possessed high disposition and registered best practices in embracing the program's implementation in the city. Hence, the ision's administration should look for the best ways to raise funds and not rely only on the government's budget. The effort may be moderated by the proposed Enhanced Alternative Learning System Development Plan. Keywords: Support mechanism, attitude, best practices

Abstract: Climate change, like many other pressing issues in today's society, is being scrutinized by the linguistic community as well under the subcategory of Eco linguistics. In this context, the present study tries to illuminate this new field by critically or Eco linguistically analyzing Greta Thunberg’s most recent (selected) speech. In particular, by using the theoretical framework given by Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional discourse model, the study analyzes the way how Greta draws on different linguistic devices or adopts highly selected use of language to convey an ecologically beneficial perspective and ideology. It also examines the use of figures of speech in her speech and it explores how the selection is made for conveying an ecologically beneficial perspective. The findings revealed her careful selection of vocabulary items, use of direct and dominant language, extensive use of metaphors, ironic expressions and lack of euphemistic expressions. Besides that, her use of conjunctions adheres to coherence, her inductive style of argumentation focuses on reasoning. The findings showed the use of transitions throughout her speech between pessimistic and optimistic expressions. The result presented that her manipulation through the use of sensitive and emotionally triggered words have influenced people to a great deal to the point of shaping their distinct ideology regarding climate change and thus to pursue an agenda based on action. The study also provides implications to develop understanding of climate related discourses as it stresses the role which language or linguistics play in encouraging and influencing people to safeguard the systems that sustain life.

Abstract: This systematic literature review aimed to analyse the studies on organisational communication, especially female leadership. The data collection was conducted on Google Scholar, Researchgate, and other reputable journals using the following keywords: “female leadership in organisational communication,” “women, leadership and organisation,” and “organisation, leadership and gender.” From these searches, fifty articles were investigated for the role of female leadership in organisational communication perspective. The result indicates that women can carry out their role as leaders in line with the organisational transformations. As leaders, women must be able to become the main communicator in the organisation. The results also reveal that from the perspective of organisational communication, many female leaders use democratic leadership styles. In terms of Role Theory, we found that female leaders can carry out their roles well, thus positively impacting the organisation.

Abstract: Intertextuality is a term used to describe how humans read and absorb textual information as a result of the development and interaction of texts. The purpose of this research is to present a theoretical exposition of intertextuality. As a result, the current research focuses on domestic violence, a well-documented social problem that impedes women's development in a variety of ways. The study's methodology is based on the intertextualistic narrative of several works, with a special emphasis on Meena Kandasamy's When I Hit You in the context of Domestic Violence. The study's findings reveal that domestic violence has a vulnerable effect on women due to a range of characteristics, and the analysis of many texts in multiple dimensions suggest that, despite the women characters differing in their cultural medium and familial background, they are intimated by their abusive husbands and are subjected to comparable types of violence worldwide.

Abstract: As a corollary to this, new trends in the field of English language teaching/learning are likely to surface, develop, and find application in the academic settings. The current global pandemic of Covid19 has caused a massive shift in teaching paradigms with previous methodologies being turned upside down due to the mass migration of education to online medium. One area that has been greatly affected is the entire ESL industry, from schools in Asia to universities in Australia, the UK and the US. No form of English teaching school has been unaffected by this global catastrophe. As a result, new methodologies especially useful for the online teaching environment must be effectively made use of. Whereas online education was formerly looked down upon in some countries, it has now become the norm. Nevertheless there are many educators who are ill-equipped to deal with this change, some students are also demotivated due to the online system of education. This special issue will focus on the Covid19 and post-Covid19 EFL/ESL/English teaching environment and digital EFL/ESL/English learning methods with the aim of creating a ready-for-reference corpus, especially for teachers with little or no formal training in online EFL/ESL/English teaching.

Abstract: This study aims to spotlight the postmodern tendency of metafiction in Preeti Shenoy’s selected texts. Metafiction is self-conscious in relation to language, literary form, and storytelling in fiction. This form of fiction accentuates its construct and reminds the readers to be aware of a fictional work. Shenoy is a noteworthy postmodern writer, and her famous novels are ‘The Secret Wish List’ (2012) and ‘It Happens for Reason’ (2014). These two novels exhibit the subject of postmodern metafiction through her writings. In these novels, the protagonists overcome their family doctrines to fulfill their wishes. The method of study adopted the metafiction theories proposed by Mark Currie, Patricia Waugh, and Linda Hutcheon. It highlights Shenoy’s texts that represent the elements of metafiction through the protagonists. Using various theories related to postmodern metafiction, the view of metafiction in the texts is substantiated and explored. The postmodern perspective of metafiction is explored in Shenoy’s texts and analyzed with metafiction theories. The study results are compared and discussed with other studies and contemporary texts concerning metafiction. The findings show that metafiction is applicable in the texts of the two novels by Shenoy. She projects the aspects of metafiction in her works through her writing, especially narration, both fiction and reality.

Abstract: Fake accounts on online social networks are increasing today with an increase in the number of active social network users. Social media websites allow users to share thoughts, facts, views and re-sharing these into various networks. Social media platforms provide users with enormous valuable information but with this great amount of information in social media, many issues like fake profile, online hacking have also grown. The fake profiles in online social sites create fake news and share unwanted material which contains spam links that affect natural users. The massive issue in social media communication networks is spam and it is necessary to identify fake profiles to stop spam. In this paper, a supervised machine learning algorithm called support vector machine (SVM) is used to identify fake accounts on social media effectively. In order to automatically identify fake online profiles, Random Forest classifier is used with SVM. With this concept, it can be applied online easily to identify millions of accounts that cannot be examined manually. The result of this model is compared with other identification techniques and the results show that the proposed algorithm performs better with high precision and recall. This method efficiently safeguards social media networks from online threats and attacks.
