Abstract: Servant leadership is a holistic style of leadership where the leader engages with followers in a relational, ethical, emotional, and spiritual manner. The leader empowers the followers and allows them to grow into what they can become. The leader develops the followers because of his or her altruistic and ethical orientation. The aim of the study was to understand the biblical foundation of servant leadership by analyzing Mark 10:41-45. Through the study of the text, it is reported that Jesus urged his disciples to be servants and to provide for the needs and well-being of their followers. The Gospel of Mark was set in a time when the Jews were under tremendous political and social upheaval. Like any people in the same predicaments, they began to yearn for a strong, political leader to save them from the tyranny of the Roman Empire, and the scripture had foretold of his coming. Instead, Jesus, a humble leader, came as a servant and a shepherd for all. The disciples did not understand the Messianic mission of Jesus. Mark used James and John to show how the struggle for earthly power is dominant in the world. In contrast, Jesus rejected the type of leadership because it is toxic. He rebuked the Pharisees and the Scribes for having seated themselves on the throne of Moses but failed to care for their people

Abstract: Teaching and learning are important educational processes that prepare young people for the greatest common good. This common good is not conditioned by the requirements of young people but by the requirements of the human family. The greatest good demands that young people, regardless of their abilities or disabilities, race, language, or religion receive the best educational opportunities of their generation. To fulfil their aspirations, all methods of differentiation must be utilised to provide the greatest educational opportunities for all. In this study, the aim was to understand how differentiation processes are harmoniously used by teachers to provide successful engagement of students. The study was carried out by reviewing the literature on how differentiation of instructions, curriculum, and assessment improves the engagement of students in secondary school settings. Differentiation is a framework of teaching that aims to address in idual learning needs and maximise students’ learning opportunities, which may then lead to a positive change in students so that they can achieve positive learning outcomes. It is reported that once the instructions and curriculum are differentiated, different types of assessments can be created to meet the erse needs of the students. Because students in the classrooms are not homogeneous, they bring with them a conundrum of issues, which can only be resolved when teachers become part of the solution, differentiating not only their teaching styles but also their programs of teaching. The teachers can then produce assessments that are pitched at the right level to test whether the students have understood the concepts taught

Abstract: Leadership has always been an area of interest, and this cannot be less in education. In this study, the aim was to review and understand how education leaders safeguard the principles of the Catholic Social Teaching in the learning institutions. Through review of literature, it is shown that the current direction of industrialization and global exponential population growth is causing anxiety and distress in societies that want to keep the status quo. This behavior is a burden to societal wellbeing, and it is changing people in an unprecedented manner. The behavior challenges leaders at all levels, but more so, the education leaders in the learning institutions. The fear of population growth and knowledge explosion in societies that were less known for influencing global politics has led to the abuse of authority by those in leadership. The fear has also led to subjugation of members of minority groups into conditions that are ethically and morally in conflict with the principles of common good, human dignity, solidarity, subsidiarity, and stewardship according to the Catholic Social Teaching. In these principles, education leaders must afford equal opportunities to all racial, cultural, and social groups to learn and to lead.

Abstract: Genetic modifier loci influence the inheritance of diseases and lead to variability in phenotype progression. We report the influence of modifier loci in female Wistar Kyoto (WKY) rats on cellular pathogenesis of nephronophthisis inherited from Lewis polycystic kidney (LPK) rats. The loci modified cellular expression and progression of nephronophthisis in the backcross 1 (BC1) progeny. Mating experiments to produce BC1 progeny were carried out between three male LPK and seven female WKY rats. Fifteen female rats from the F1 generation were mated with the male LPK rats to produce the BC1 progeny. The rats with cystic kidney disease were identified and histology of the kidneys was carried out. Mapping studies and linkage analysis were carried out to identify the modifier loci. The BC1 progeny were less affected than the LPK strain with respect to disease severity and progression of the kidneys to end stage renal disease. It was found that the mean values of all the disease phenotypes of the mutant BC1 progeny were significantly different from those of the LPK rats, and these segregated with the genotypes of the markers located on chromosomes 5q34-q36 and 7q11-q34, giving maximum LOD scores greater than 3 (p < 0.001).
