The aims of this study are to: examine ways in which health promotion principles may be applied in specialist palliative care service delivery models; examine factors which may influence the implementation of a health promoting model of palliative care; develop a service improvement framework based on health promotion principles for community-based specialist palliative care services; and, implement and evaluate the service improvement framework in a selected community based palliative care service.
