Funded Activity Summary

This research aims to develop strategies to improve the quality of care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients who attend mainstream general practice by determining the barriers and enablers of Indigenous identification in general practice and developing a framework with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients to improve the cultural appropriateness of the health care they receive. The findings have the potential to contribute directly to the National Closing the Gap initiative and the National Primary Health Care Strategy.
