Alcohol consumption practices in crisis. This project aims to investigate how meanings and practices of alcohol consumption in Australia are impacted by the global novel coronavirus pandemic.The project expects to generate new knowledge in the area of the sociology of alcohol consumption, gender and social media by using assemblage theory and novel scroll-back qualitative interview methods. Expected outcomes of this project include enhanced capacity in researching alcohol consumption practices in times of crisis, theoretical and methodological innovation and practical recommendations for responding to alcohol consumption in and beyond future crises. This should enhance policy and reduce the economic and social costs associated with alcohol use.
