Funded Activity Summary

Financing and management of lifetime care for adults with acquired disabilities and high care needs. Lifetime care for adults with acquired disabilities is of growing public concern. Substantial levels of unmet need, poorly coordinated services and inadequacy of care arrangements to guarantee lifetime care are pressing concerns. Coordinating multi-sector and service inputs is an ongoing problem for policy makers and providers in Australia. The proposed project will develop an empirical understanding of how current systems of financing and management of lifetime care operate at policy and service delivery levels for adults with acquired disabilities. This provides a strategic foundation for policy development and enhanced lifetime care arrangements that will be of relevance to other populations.
