Funded Activity Summary

Year-round accessible angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy facility . Year-round accessible angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy facility: This project aims to create a year-round readily accessible facility for angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy combined with in situ scanning tunnelling microscopy, cementing Australia's leadership position in novel electronic materials research. The facility is the first of its kind in Australia, housed at the Australian Synchrotron, and accessible to a broad user base. The facility will be an essential tool for study of new electronic materials such as graphene, two-dimensional semiconductors, topological insulators, and superconductors. This research aims to lead to new thermoelectric, photovoltaic, superconducting, and computing devices, revolutionising the generation, transfer, storage, and use of electrical energy.
