Engineering Novel Two-dimensional Materials for Optoelectronic Applications. Based on recent breakthroughs in graphene optoelectronics, this project aims to engineer novel two-dimensional nanomaterials and demonstrate new approaches to fabricate optoelectronic devices with potential for light detection and solar light harvesting. The conversion from light signals to electric signals is the central topic in modern telecommunication and solar energy harvesting. By engineering the thinnest materials in the world, this project aims to develop high value-added devices with high power conversion efficiency for electronic and energy industries. Successful outcomes would enable exciting innovations in the related technology area.
