Funded Activity Summary

Diagnosing quantum noise sources in quantum information processors via machine learning. Noise is the primary obstacle to building large-scale quantum information processors that have the potential to revolutionise our understanding of the world. This project will use the powerful techniques and methods of machine learning to identify, characterise, and correct noise sources in the next generation of quantum information processors. These innovative techniques will allow the reliability of quantum computer components to be tested, and thus help identify which candidate technologies are capable of building a scalable quantum computer.
