Funded Activity Summary

Digital chemistry and catalysis: redefining reactions in confined systems. This Laureate program aims to initiate a new era of chemical catalysis and reaction manipulation via an entirely novel nanofluidic approach discovered in Australia. By further studying this phenomenon, it aims to deliver new insights into what drives chemical reactions in confined systems controlled by applied electric fields. It will also develop novel technology platforms to miniaturise and enable on-demand software-controlled (digital) chemistry, with broad applications in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries. Project success will have a profound impact in many areas of modern society, the environment and the high-tech and manufacturing industry, while further enhancing Australia's sovereign manufacturing capability.
