Electron and spin transport in topological insulators. This project brings together experts with complementary skills to study newly discovered topological insulators that conduct electricity on their surface but not inside. The project will explore potential applications of this new class of materials in novel electronics, optics, spintronics, superconducting and quantum information technologies.
