Funded Activity Summary

Modelling Superconducting Quantum Devices. The capability to incorporate quantum mechanical systems into electronic circuits leads to devices with fundamentally new properties. These devices are very sensitive to their environment, so can be used as sensitive sensors. In the extreme, with many such devices connected together, it would lead to a full scale quantum computer, which has the capacity to perform tasks that are unfeasible on an ordinary computer. This proposal aims to characterise quantum electronics from a theoretical perspective, complimentary to experimental efforts that will soon begin at the University of Queensland.
