Funded Activity Summary

Managing E-Business using Ontology-Based Multi-Agent Systems (OBMAS). In view of some notorious corporate failures affecting large number of innocent investors, financial services (in which Australia is a major exporter) regulations need the cooperation of people from diverse organisations and geographical locations. This cooperation needs to be supported by sophisticated tools, such as intelligent agents. This requires a common understanding (not available now) of terminologies and processes (semantics) of management within and across organisations. This project aims to demonstrate a new approach to solving the problem, and its validation in the important area of financial management, significant for Australia's financial industry. The proposed methodology is expected to benefit all sectors of e-business.
