Funded Activity Summary

Sources and processes in the early solar system - an isotopic study. Our solar system formed over 4.5 billion years ago. We aim to develop techniques that will allow us to determine the sequence of events that led to our planetary system with unprecedented detail. The same techniques can be applied to dating geological events, for example, correlating ore-forming events and dating opal formation. This project utilizes new Australian technologies that will have potential economic benefits both in instrument sales and applications.
