Funded Activity Summary

Adaptive Multi-user Detectors for Mobile Space-Time Communications Systems over Time Variable Fading Channels. High capacity wire-line internet access (~ 1 Mbit/s) is available through existing telephone lines or through the cable TV infrastructure. The need to have the same quality wireless and mobile internet access is becoming evident. The full deployment of the mobile internet might be delayed due to the low capacity of existing cellular mobile communications systems. This research project will contribute to the understanding of fundamental capacity limitations of the mobile communications concept over communication channels that vary with time. The outcomes of the project will suggest possible solutions to the capacity limitations.
