Funded Activity Summary

Unravelling the spin transport properties in organic spintronic devices. This project aims to understand and control spin transport properties in organic semiconductors (OSC) and develop novel organic spintronic devices. OSCs have become the centre of attention in the spintronics community as they have very small spin-orbit coupling and hyperfine interactions, which lead to very long spin coherence times and make them ideal for spin transport. However, the basic mechanisms of spin injection, transport, and manipulation in OSCs are still obscure. The project expects to clarify the spin-dynamics, which will advance our understandings of spin transport in OSCs and could contribute to the development of spin-based molecular electronics for future applications.
