Funded Activity Summary

Green Radio: Increasing Spectral and Energy Efficiency of Wireless Networks. This project aims to develop green radio communications which reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while enabling fast and reliable communications in wireless networks. The new techniques and algorithms to be investigated in the project for green wireless communications were inspired by recent advances in spectrum sharing and energy harvesting. The expected outcomes will have wireless applications including mobile communications and sensor networks. New wireless communications protocols, standards and algorithms drawing upon the foundations of modelling and analysis based on communications, mathematics, probability, statistics and optimisation theory may benefit both academia and industry.
