Funded Activity Summary

Tough choices: assessing threats and prioritising conservation investment. Biodiversity faces multiple threats, including global change. A significant problem is the gap between the science underpinning species' vulnerability assessments and the development of effective conservation management solutions, reducing the probability of successful conservation. Given insufficient resources exist to conserve all species, the development of a future-smart framework for prioritising resource allocation at global, national and regional scales is essential. This project aims to do that by classifying the risks to species using a predictive framework, and construct a widely applicable management scheme to maximise species' future persistence.
