Funded Activity Summary

Scaling up low emissions innovations into the mainstream. Australia seeks to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions while also creating a strong innovation and knowledge economy. As yet, it is not known how to move low emissions innovations into the mainstream to assist in this transition. At the same time, our economy is connected to leaders in innovation, such as the United States of America (especially California) and to rising powers, such as China, who are scaling up low emissions technologies extremely quickly. This project aims to develop and test explanatory theories to explain how and why low emissions innovation can be scaled up to provide environmental, economic and social benefits. It uses innovative online and in-person methods, and compares the policy-industry-innovation nexus, from local to global, in Australia, the USA and China.
