The indigenous development scholarship is part of the suite of professional development opportunities developed and managed through the FRDC people development program. This particular scholarship addresses the following objectives of the people development program 2008-2013:

1. To support Mr Markalal Maymaru to attend the NT Govt's aquaculture facility to learn and absorb the vagaries of the industry with a view to provide basic but well informed advice to remote Indigenous communities on the advantages and challenges of aquaculture in their homelands
