Funded Activity Summary

In this second phase of the 5W research program, we will use machine learning technology and data linkage to examine a cohort of youth who have accessed headspace Victorian sites by linking the Minimum Dataset data with emergency and acute mental health services usage, and other administrative datasets. We will examine service use profiles before, during, and 1-year after first access to headspace services. We will also explore short- and medium-term outcomes following headspace treatment, including indicators of social exclusion (e.g., unstable housing), frequency of access to emergency services (i.e., ambulance and emergency department visits for mental health reasons) or outpatient visits.
