The strategic review will articulate current strengths and identify critical gaps and requirements. The review will help Australia to advance science and engineering on a wide range of fronts, from biology and medicine to defence technology and business. It will facilitate the wise allocation of research funding. As a leading-edge researcher in mathematics and statistics, Australia stands to enhance its innovation capacity and global positioning.
