Funded Activity Summary

Search for physics beyond the Standard Model in penguin decays. In the decays of subatomic particles, there is an increasing number of discrepancies between the theoretical expectations and the measurements. This project aims to confirm or refute the interpretation of these results as arising from phenomena not described by the Standard Model of Particle Physics. The project expects to generate new knowledge to clarify this question by making an innovative set of measurements that are designed to minimise existing theoretical uncertainty. The expected outcomes are a deeper understanding of how the Universe works and an enhanced capability to collaborate internationally in Particle Physics. Significant benefits will be provided in terms of training in advanced computational methods.
