Funded Activity Summary

Aboriginal identities within architecture and the built environment: Perceptions of a sample of Indigenous and non-Indigenous architects. This cross-disciplinary approach of Architecture and Aboriginal Studies creates a new field when combined with decolonising methodology. This study aims to acquire knowledge and to consider the racial identities of the architect designer and building user. It is expected to lead to an improved understanding of architecture and the built environment for building users in Indigenous communities and organisations. It will also add further depth to Australian architectural design.
