Funded Activity Summary

Analysis of the effectiveness of a Quality Teaching framework in increasing Aboriginal students' educational outcomes. This research will address key elements of the National research priority goals, including Priority 2 & Priority 3 Promoting an innovation culture and economy. This research will make a significant contribution to educators' understanding of ways of increasing Aboriginal students' educational success rates. It will enhance the schooling experiences of Aboriginal students and provide teachers with the tools to engage with Aboriginal students in a culturally appropriate and educationally efficacious manner. Improvement in Aboriginal students' educational qualifications will support welfare reform agendas, as higher educational attainment is associated with decreased welfare dependence, which is desired by Indigenous communities and leaders.
