2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Complete the 5 min survey now by clicking on the link below.

Changing Risks Factors And Cancer Outcomes In A Transitional Thai Prospective Cohort

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $414,453.00
    Summary
This study will examine the health consequences of socioeconomic development in Thailand. Patterns of diseases, including the types and rates of diagnosis of cancer, are changing in Thailand as Western lifestyle habits are adopted. The aim of the research is to investigate risk factors for common cancers at the individual level, and the economic, cultural and environmental level. Understanding these risks and the ways they are changing will assist with future planning for cancer control programs

Priority-setting In Child Population Health: Increasing The Effectiveness Of Population Health Resources To Improve Health And Quality Of Life Of Australia's Children

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $153,975.00
    Summary
There are many interventions competing for limited funds in Australian child population health. One problem is that evidence is limited to short-term and disease-based measures, making it hard to choose between options. In this Fellowship I will use a proven economic priority-setting approach to prioritise options for investment. This research will build my skills in policy-level decision-making; this and the study results will make me an independent research leader in child health economics.

Clinical, Environmental And Genetic Factors And The Risk Of Oesophageal Cancer

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $145,685.00
    Summary
Oesophageal cancer is a rapidly fatal disease which is becoming more common in Australia, the United States and other industrialised nations. This study will examine the mechanisms leading to the development of oesophageal cancer and aims to measure the effects of genes and environment on the burden of cancer. Ultimately, this research will help target persons at highest risk so that screening, prevention and surveillance efforts can be directed more effectively.

Large-Scale Multi-Omic Analysis And Risk Prediction Of Complex Human Disease

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $321,414.00
    Summary
A major aim of medicine is to prevent disease, which is often more successful and cost-effective than treating an already existing condition. Common diseases, such as autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases, have a predisposing genetic basis. We will conduct genetic analysis of large datasets of coeliac disease and cardiovascular disease to better identify individuals at increased risk and to better understand the underlying biological processes through which genetics act to affect one's risk.
