The value of Aboriginal cultural heritage: cultural production and regional economies in Eastern Arnhem Land and the Western Desert. The project will research the ways in which the unique and dynamic character of Aboriginal knowledge systems and cultural production can be utilized and maintained within regional systems of economic development. The project will focus on art and cultural tourism in two regions: Eastern Arnhem Land and the Western desert.

How costly is an unhealthy start in life? An econometric analysis of childhood health and adult prosperity. Knowledge on the consequences of poor health is crucial for effective allocation of public health funds. The project will investigate the long term costs of poor childhood health by quantifying the impacts of childhood illness on future economic prosperity. The analysis will employ advanced statistical techniques and high quality Australian data.

This project brings together frontline service agencies with researchers from two universities to study involuntary non-participation and under-participation in the labour market by midlife Australians.
