The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

The Effectiveness of Global Sexual Rights Policy in Education. This project plans to explore the usefulness and harmfulness of global rights-based policy processes for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer students. This project plans to explore the usefulness and harmfulness of global rights-based policy processes for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer students. New global sexual rights policies for schools and related transnational processes paradoxically appear to have contributed to the criminalisation of (and even capital punishment for) education on homosexuality in several countries. This project intends to map the order and movement of transnational discourses about these students in global education policies and processes, consider how they reflect different regions' perspectives, and compare them to localised approaches. The knowledge from the project is expected to inform policy processes.Read moreRead less

A whole-of-community approach to promoting engagement into education in a discrete Indigenous community: a mixed method study. This research will develop a whole-of-community approach to engage Indigenous learners with education and provide evidence of a model that works. Developed in one community, the model will contribute policy-relevant knowledge for improving Indigenous educational outcomes and meeting the Commonwealth Government's Closing the Gap targets.

This project aims to investigate the use of digital data in schools to identify ways to improve its capture and use. Masses of digital data are generated within schools every day, but despite its potential, this data remains poorly used and understood. The project intends to work with school communities in order to develop innovative data tools and techniques that make more effective use of the data. The project will provide new insights into the technical, informatics, organisational and social issues surrounding the (re)use of digital data in schools and the development of digital data ‘best practice’ models. This project should provide benefits in terms of improved teaching and learning, parent engagement and use of infrastructure investment.Read moreRead less
Data infrastructures, mobilities and network governance in education. Multiple data sets now drive education systems and schools. The project will examine four related policy contexts in the Asia-Pacific region (Australia, Canada, Japan, and the United States of America) and the data mobilities flowing from the release of Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2015. New knowledge is expected to be developed on the concepts of data infrastructure and data mobility; how data create new spatialised modes of educational governance; and how relations between governments, Non-Government Organisations and corporations are reconfigured through data use. The project is expected to provide new evidence on how educational data affect education governance, policy making and policy enactment across geographical scales.Read moreRead less

Over 1.2 million Australian school children participate in national and high-stakes state assessments each year. This project aims to produce improved and novel methods for assessing students using open-ended tasks so that educators can more accurately compare students’ achievements and track their progress. In turn, this aims to support decision makers to enable better educational outcomes. The investigators aim to refine a rubric used in the National Assessment Program—Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) so that Writing assessments are as accurate and comparable as possible. Methods also aim to be designed to enable more accurate and comparable assessments of Australian children in areas not covered by NAPLAN such as History and The Arts.Read moreRead less
