Anti-Muslim sentiment across the globe is increasingly expressed on the grounds that Muslims are misogynistic, raising questions about Muslims' intimate relations. This project will investigate the ways that Muslim intimacy has become a site of political contestation in Australia with implications for migrant security and border security.

Migrant and refugee victims of domestic violence (DV) are at grave risk of harm and murder and under-identified in primary care. The Harmony partnership builds on evidence-based models of DV response, to trial an innovative intervention of culturally competent and safe care in general practices with significant numbers of migrant patients. Harmony will result in data platforms that enhance assessment and care plans for DV victims, and safer outcomes for those from vulnerable populations.
Fluid security in the Asia Pacific. At a time of global and regional insecurity fuelled by economic and terrorism concerns, this project will provide a rigorous evidence base for the Asia Pacific to better manage mobility in a more inclusive way. Narrating trauma and displacement: historical and cultural experiences of Iran-born men in Australia. This project aims to understand the trauma facing Iranian men who have settled in Australia in the last 30 years, and to contribute to programs for their recovery and care. It provides the first social, cultural and historical study of this phenomenon, and aims to strengthen social cohesion by promoting new knowledge about refugees and migrants.

Media and transient migrants in Australia and Singapore: mapping identities and networks. This project is a journey of discovery into the migration experience of transient migrants (international students and skilled professionals) in Australia and Singapore through their use and engagement with the media (screen and digital). This project will help us understand permanent migration patterns in Australia.
Participation versus performance: managing (dis)ability, gender and cultural diversity in junior sport. Playing sport can benefit young people but by its nature is competitive. This project will examine how well, if at all, junior sports clubs manage a need to be successful alongside providing an inclusive environment welcoming people of all backgrounds and abilities.
