The value of characteristics of Australian wheat. This project will identify the functional wheat characteristics considered by the Japanese millers when deciding what and how much to buy. It will also determine how these functional and non-functional Australian wheat characteristics are perceived by the millers compared to other countries, and determine the importance of each one of these characteristics on the final choice.
The presentation of expert evidence in Australian criminal trials: the role of lawyers and experts. This project will shed light on how courts, lawyers and experts can work effectively together to deliver expert evidence in the courtroom. Improving the provision and effective use of expert evidence will benefit the Australian community by providing a better quality criminal justice system.
Integrating choice set formation and taste heterogeneity in market segmentation. This project develops a new model of consumer decision-making to provide managerial insights related to market segmentation, product portfolio optimisation and marketing communication strategies. The model can be specified for a particular product category using data collected from a novel elicitation instrument developed as part of this project.
Dynamic relations between values and consumer behaviour: age and life-stage. This project aims to understand the complex relations between people’s life goals and their consumption behaviour, exploring age, life-stage and cohort effects. A new kind of dynamics for psychology. In order to remain efficient in real-world decisions, people must dynamically monitor and adjust their cognitive processes. This project aims to develop innovative methods and analyses for dynamics in experimental psychology, using standard paradigms in which task parameters are dynamically manipulated. The development of models of dynamic behaviour will advance the science of psychology and serve as a practical measurement tool for individuals.

Summary
This program will improve health care and policy through clinical trials research and better methods for combining trial evidence. The team will tackle priority health areas to reduce death and serious disability: in particular in cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and neonatal diseases. The program team includes clinicians, epidemiologists, trialists, biostatisticians, and health economists and collaborative networks of clinical investigators in each disease area.
Do intentions predict health-related behaviours? Implications of method bias for the design of public health promotion programs. Each year millions of dollars are expended on public health initiatives to encourage healthier lifestyle behaviours, such as diet, exercise, smoking and sun-protection. This project will investigate the cumulative empirical evidence to evaluate the validity of the theories that purport to explain why people behave the way they do.
Reconnecting and engaging superannuation fund members. To understand the widely perceived disengagement of superannuation fund members, the project team will collaborate with UniSuper and the human resources departments of two large Australian universities on a large-scale, state-of-the-art experiment. This project will provide theoretical, and hands-on, advice to reconnect and engage fund members to enhance/improve retirement savings decisions.
