The value of characteristics of Australian wheat. This project will identify the functional wheat characteristics considered by the Japanese millers when deciding what and how much to buy. It will also determine how these functional and non-functional Australian wheat characteristics are perceived by the millers compared to other countries, and determine the importance of each one of these characteristics on the final choice.

This project develops a new model of consumer decision-making to provide managerial insights related to market segmentation, product portfolio optimisation and marketing communication strategies. The model can be specified for a particular product category using data collected from a novel elicitation instrument developed as part of this project.

One in four school students (migrant-background and indigenous) are non-English speaking background, many speaking English-as-a-second-language or dialect (ESL/ESD). Since many are 'at risk' according to Literacy Benchmarks testing, optimal ESL-informed teaching, reporting and assessment is needed. Most previous Australian divorce research has concentrated on describing overall trends, or has used samples of separated and divorced populations only. To understand the widely perceived disengagement of superannuation fund members, the project team will collaborate with UniSuper and the human resources departments of two large Australian universities on a large-scale, state-of-the-art experiment. This project will provide theoretical, and hands-on, advice to reconnect and engage fund members to enhance/improve retirement savings decisions.
The role of online social networks in successful ageing: benefitting from 'who you know' at older ages. The project will increase understanding of how online social networking contributes to successful ageing through partnering, economic and voluntary activity, family and social connectedness. The findings will inform policy recommendations, social interventions and education programs designed to enhance 'ageing well, ageing productively'.
