Reading in the Mallee: The Literary Past and Future of an Australian Region. This project addresses key challenges in regional Australia relating to literary activity and the infrastructure that supports it, including access to inclusive reading practices and spaces. Partnering with literary industry stakeholders in the Victorian Mallee region, the research will generate a series of reader-centred events that enhance and diversify the literary infrastructure of the region and produce translatable knowledge for industry stakeholders in regional Australia more broadly. Performing transdisciplinarity. This project aims to use the illustrated songbook, a performative genre which fuses image, music and text, to study the transdisciplinary nature of 18th-century print culture. Through multifaceted research on an exemplary songbook, this project will create a multimedia digital interface for linking deep disciplinary knowledge and the recreation of the sounds, sensibilities, and social mores of 18th-century France. Creative Antarctica: Australian Artists and Writers in the Far South. The project aims to make the rich history of Australian artists' and writers' engagement with Antarctica visible through an innovative combination of critical, curatorial, and qualitative research. It expects to generate new interdisciplinary knowledge of creative responses to the South Polar region. Anticipated outcomes include the first comprehensive history and analysis of the Antarctic stories, sounds, and images produced ....Creative Antarctica: Australian Artists and Writers in the Far South. The project aims to make the rich history of Australian artists' and writers' engagement with Antarctica visible through an innovative combination of critical, curatorial, and qualitative research. It expects to generate new interdisciplinary knowledge of creative responses to the South Polar region. Anticipated outcomes include the first comprehensive history and analysis of the Antarctic stories, sounds, and images produced by Australian artists and writers and recommendations for maximising Antarctic residency outcomes.
