Politics, media and democracy in Australia: public and producer perceptions of the political public sphere. At a time of widespread criticism of the role of the media in informing and enabling Australian democratic processes, this study explores the perceptions of ordinary Australians about the performance of the variety of media forms in which politics is reported, analysed and discussed.
Our people, our pictures, our voices: community representations of the Queensland land rights struggle, 1966-2010. This project tells the story of the Queensland land rights struggle through the eyes of Indigenous participants, their media and the broader newspaper industry. Its key public outcome is a multi-faceted book on the land rights movement; and new methodological and critical media analysis contributions to community media research.
