2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Complete the 5 min survey now by clicking on the link below.

Assessing Efficacy Of Polyfunctional Nanoparticles Engineered For The Delivery Of Multiple Therapeutics In Reduction Of Cardiac Ischemia Reperfusion Injury

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $317,678.00
    Summary
A reduction in heart muscle damage after a heart attack is associated with a reduction in heart failure and an increase in life expectancy. However to date many therapeutic agents are not successful at reducing muscle damage because of difficulty in delivering the drugs to the target site. This project will address these delivery issues by making use of multifunctional nanoparticles which will allow for targeted delivery and release of therapeutics directly to damaged tissue following injury.

Formyl Peptide Receptor Biased Agonists As Novel Cardioprotective Agents Against Myocardial Infarction.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $318,768.00
    Summary
Heart attack and its resulting heart failure are the leading causes of death in Australia. Examining a promising new target (formyl peptide receptors), I will use my knowledge of drug action at the single cell level to identify new drugs that act via a unique biased mechanism. These will be tested in pre-clinical animal models of heart attack to uncover critical new potential therapies that will protect the heart post heart attack and prevent the development heart failure.

The Thrombospondin-1/CD47 Axis In Kidney Transplantation.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $372,528.00
    Summary
Kidney transplantation is the preferred treatment for kidney failure. At transplantation when blood flow is restored to the organ, a massive burst of inflammatory and oxidative products ensues, a process known as “ischaemia-reperfusion injury” (IRI). This damages transplanted organs and activates the immune system, causing organ transplant rejection and loss. This project will investigate the TSP-1/CD47 axis and its manipulation in renal IRI as a focus for reducing organ injury, rejection and tr .... Characterising The Physiological Roles Of The Asparaginyl Hydroxylase FIH-1 In Development And Disease.

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $274,743.00
    Summary
FIH-1 is an oxygen-sensing protein expressed in every cell. The ability for cells to detect and respond to oxygen deficiency is necessary for survival in heart disease and stroke, and is also a feature of cancer. This research aims to characterise the role FIH-1 plays in normal development and disease using mouse and tumour model systems. This research could ultimately indicate whether FIH-1 is a feasible drug target.
