Serious gender-based disparities exist in participation in the Information, Communication, and Computing Technologies (ICCT) field, in both higher education and industry, with a 2004 review of Australian university participation rates identifying women as an equity target group in this field. The result can be ineffective policy, and policy that reinforces unequal gender relations. This project aims to investigate how the rich, vulnerable heritage of Australian Dance Theatre (ADT), Australia’s oldest contemporary dance company, can be re-activated for the future. In partnership with Indigenous leadership from ADT, it will collaboratively research Western and Indigenous choreographies to generate an innovative work. This project will investigate what young people think they should be taught in school-based sexuality education programs. This information will inform the re-design of these programs and promote the sexual health of the next generation of Australians.
