In 1999, there were 22.7 million beef cattle, producing 2 million tonnes with a gross value of $4.4 million. The impact of aggregate and idiosyncratic shocks and uncertainties: do immigrants behave differently than the native-born? The project will examine the role of shocks/uncertainties on differences in consumption, savings and labour supply of immigrant and native-born indigenous and non-indigenous population. The results will help guide the formulation of immigration/integration policy, and facilitate the design of programs in response to shocks and financial crises.
International Comparisons of Consumption, Incomes and Prices. This project will provide insights into the workings of the world economy, and how it might change in the future. This will be beneficial to the Australian economy as the role of international trade in goods, people and capital is likely to become even more important to us in the future.
