The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Personally Controlled Electronic Health Records For Young Adults With Communication Disabilities: Charting The Course For Successful Child To Adult Health Service Transition.
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$400,665.00
Summary
Adolescents and young adults with chronic health conditions and communication disabilities struggle to communicate their health information with service providers. This causes problems in care when moving from child to adult health services. This study will investigate their use of the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record as a means to support timely and effective information exchange to improve healthcare for these vulnerable young adults.
European Platform To Promote Wellbeing And Health In The Workplace (EMPOWER)
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$499,222.00
Summary
Productivity loss related to mental illness. Digital technologies improve mental health and wellbeing at the workplace. A multimodal digital platform is the software of a website allowing for the interaction of its users and including different modules such as apps, chatbots and virtual assistants. This will be the first multimodal platform developed in Europe. We will provide a critical knowledge transfer for its design, pilot and implementation and will coordinate the impact analysis.
Unifying And Quality Assuring Disparate Health Silos With A Common Data Model
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$735,795.00
Summary
Australia has silos of disconnected data holdings across various domains in community, primary and secondary care settings, with disparate terminologies, data models and data quality assurance mechanisms. Mapping MedicineInsight, a national general practice data repository, to a common data model can contribute to unifying Australia's digital data assets. There are cost-efficiencies and benefits from sharing interoperable data and tools for large-scale multicentre and multisystem data analytics.
Preventing Chronic Disease In Patients With Low Health Literacy Using E-health And Teamwork In Primary Health Care.
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$1,264,893.00
Summary
This study will evaluate whether an innovative intervention tailored to patients’ health literacy improves preventive care for vulnerable and disadvantaged patients in general practice. It will use e-health to support practice nurses to reduce their patients’ risk of chronic disease.
DigiCare4You - An Intersectoral Innovative Solution Involving DIGItal Tools, Empowering Families And Integrating Community CARE Services For The Prevention And Management Of Type 2 Diabetes And Hypertension
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$489,307.00
Summary
The overall aim of the research is to design and implement an innovative intervention that will bring together the available community-care infrastructure, human resources and services, as well as technological advancements on digital health, for the early prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes and hypertension. The active involvement of Australian researchers in this international collaboration ensures that this innovation and its benefits will be transferred to Australia in the future.
A National Aged Care Medication Roundtable - Translating Aged Care Data Into Action To Improve Quality Of Care Through Collaboration And Co-design
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$1,444,499.00
Summary
Older Australians with the most complex health needs live in residential care. Greater than 80% of residents are on five or more medications daily, and 40% are taking 10 or more. Poor medication management is the greatest source of complaint to the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission. This project will provide timely information to a group of providers and consumers about the medicines residents receive, identify problem areas and trial innovative interventions to address these issues.
Harnessing Information Technology To Improve Self-management Behaviours And Health Outcome In People With Heart Failure: A Smarthome Ecosystem Living Lab Study
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$1,120,226.00
Summary
The burden of heart failure in Australia is substantial. Management of heart failure is complex and requires self-management of symptoms and behaviour change, which requires ongoing education and support to achieve. Current approaches for supporting self-management do not meet the needs of people with heart failure or the healthcare system. This Australian first project aims to co-design an intelligent smart home ecosystem (Smart Heart) to support the management for people with heart failure.
Revolutionising Multiple Sclerosis Care And Trials Through E-health
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$2,182,124.00
Summary
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is now a highly treatable disease. However, many people with MS are not treated optimally because health care delivery is intermittent and disease monitoring is patchy. People failing treatment should switch quickly to prevent disability, but the treatment choices and sequences also need to be safe long-term. The solution to these problems, to be validated by my team, is greater involvement of people with MS in their own monitoring though e-health tools.
Wellbeing Intervention For Chronic Kidney Disease (WICKD): A Trial Of The Aboriginal And Islander Mental Health Initiative (AIMhi) Stay Strong App.
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$1,031,562.00
Summary
Kidney disease is 10 times higher for Indigenous compared to non-Indigenous Australians. Treatment involves many losses (time, functioning, role and disconnection from family and country). This study is the first to explore effectiveness of a culturally adapted electronic mental health intervention – The AIMhi Stay Strong App for improving wellbeing, quality of life and treatment adherence for Indigenous patients on haemodialysis. Cost effectiveness of the intervention is also assessed.
Multi-faceted E-health Interventions For Primary Health Care
Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
Funding Amount
$359,564.00
Summary
There are large evidence practice gaps in primary health care leading to sub-optimal health outcomes. To address these gaps, I have devised HealthTracker, an e-health system for chronic disease management. I will evaluate the effectiveness of HealthTracker and develop three new system features: (1) a consumer focussed web portal, (2) three new chronic care modules for respiratory health, osteoporosis and fracture prevention, low back pain, and (3) implementation of the system in rural India.
