The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your
interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take
approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure
services including Reasearch Link Australia.
We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we
deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.
Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

This project aims to address one of the most vexing questions in the management of information systems: how to unlock the value of digital investments. The project expects to develop new theory and evidence on how to achieve meaningful use of information systems at multiple levels of analysis. The project will especially benefit the health sector, and society, by helping health providers and vendors to maximise the value obtained from substantial investment in digital technologies, and by developing evidence-based policies to optimise digital service delivery.Read moreRead less

Design of Neonatal Seizure Diagnosis Methods Using Time-Frequency Signal Processing Techniques. Seizures occur in approximately 0.5% of all newborns. Seizures occur in approximately 0.5% of all newborns. They are often the only indicator of an early dysfunction in central nervous system (CNS). Their occurrence raises concerns about the underlying cause, its effect on the brain, and the appropriate treatment. Newborn seizures are mostly sub-clinical and only detected through the Electroencephalogram. For an efficient diagnosis, seizure classification systems were proposed based on visual observations. This project proposes developing a novel approach to automate the classification process using time-frequency (TF) signal processing techniques based on the multi-channel characteristics of the seizure; namely: A) TF signature B) origin, and C) propagation behaviour.Read moreRead less
Examining multi-level Information Technology (IT) project alignment in government services: the case of contracted employment services. Improved Information Technology (IT) alignment is essential for the delivery of government services within a complex public-private, inter-organisational environment. This project will investigate the extent to which well-aligned IT support systems contribute positively to the efficient and effective delivery of contracted employment services.
Effective, efficient and scalable processing of the graph of graphs. This project aims to develop novel approaches to realise the value of the graph of graphs (GoG), which has been widely used to capture the relations among the structured entities. Several key challenges will be addressed: better models to capture the similarity and cohesiveness of the structured entities, increased efficiency, and greater scalability of the processing and analytics of the GoG. The novel models and algorithms developed within this project will be incorporated into a prototype for both evaluation and to demonstrate real-world practical value for business, industry, and academia. Success in this project should see significant benefits for many important applications such as health, cyber-security and e-commerce.Read moreRead less
User-Adaptive Search and Evaluation for Complex Information-Seeking Tasks. This project plans to develop a new evaluation framework to understand and characterise web users and their situation within complex, multi-faceted search tasks, exemplified through job-search. This project plans to develop a new evaluation framework to understand and characterise web users and their situation within complex, multi-faceted search tasks, exemplified through job-search. While evaluation of web search engine effectiveness is relatively well understood, measuring information retrieval performance in the context of complex tasks with heterogeneous users is a largely neglected problem. This project plans to mine user-specific characteristics and situations from complex profiles and interaction logs for online information services run by the industry partner, SEEK. The new techniques are intended to redefine understanding of task-oriented search, and have the potential to reinvent the user experience for complex search tasks. This project will transform how practical search systems are measured within complex task scenarios. This will result in substantial economic impact by enabling businesses providing task-based search services to provide more customized offerings. Within the target domain (job search), this greatly enhances a service highly relevant to Australia's productivity.Read moreRead less

This project aims to work in the online education industry to provide a revolutionary secure environment for both business owners and users. This secure online environment will enable privacy and security guarantees that will be first implemented on our Partner Organisation’s education platform. The developed technologies can be easily adapted to most online-service industries and can be commercialised immediately.Read moreRead less
TRIIBE TRacking Indoor Information BEhaviour. This project will research the passive tracking of user's mobile devices in indoor spaces correlating their spatial behaviour with their information needs to deliver personalised information. The project will create a system that enables owners of large buildings (for example, shopping malls, airports, universities) to better manage their spaces and services.

This project aims to design low-power consuming coding schemes that can achieve the maximum coding gain for NAND Flash memories in Solid State Drives. Although these devices are replacing hard drives in laptops and provide enormous benefits in access speed and weight, they become unreliable the more they are used. Advanced coding techniques are needed to solve problems caused by the very strict reliability/cost requirements of large storage systems. Allocating memory to coding redundant information can extend these devices’ lifetime. The design of codes and decoders with a low power consumption is expected to be the key enabling technology for next generation large storage devices.Read moreRead less

This project aims to determine the best ways to communicate wine research and to design tools to support research adoption. Adoption of research relies on effective use of information and technology by employees. Research into employees’ information practices in the workplace has been conducted in health care, education and other areas; however, the wine industry’s use of information and technology for adoption is unexplored. The project plans to assess the strategies used to share research with winemakers and grape growers (e.g. seminars, websites, social media), from information behaviour or web useability perspectives, to ensure industry needs are met appropriately. This research aims to have a direct and immediate impact on the wine industry. In addition to the immediate impact of new research innovations that will be implemented by our partner wine companies, the project will also change industry-wide approaches to extension. The partner organisations use extension strategies to showcase new innovations and our research will assess these organisations’ current practices, providing evidence to shape the design of future activities in Australia.Read moreRead less
