Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment And Facilities - Grant ID: LE110100092

    Funder
    Australian Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $300,000.00
    Summary
Fluorescence microscopy with optical tweezers: imaging cellular responses. Life relies on the ability of our cells to receive and respond to signals with pinpoint accuracy, involving both chemical and mechanical signals. This equipment will allow scientists to expose cells to both types of signals and measure the response at an unprecedented level of accuracy for the first time.

Linkage Projects - Grant ID: LP160100979

    Funder
    Australian Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $335,000.00
    Summary
Modulating T cell responses with novel Lck activating compounds. Modulating T cell responses with novel Lck activating compounds. This project aims to research T cell receptor (TCR) signal initiation and network plasticity and identify uses for drugs that affect the kinase Lck. The TCR signalling network has considerable plasticity so that modulation of one molecule (here the drug target is Lck) can have non-linear effects on T cell function. This project intends to use novel drugs to understand .... This project intends to use novel drugs to understand how the T cell network can be exploited to control both the magnitude and quality of the T cell responses. This research is expected to aid the design of immune-modulating drugs.

Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment And Facilities - Grant ID: LE110100078

    Funder
    Australian Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $500,000.00
    Summary
Establishment of a comprehensive regional biophysical analysis facility. Interactions between molecules are needed for cells to function correctly. This facility will permit comprehensive molecular characterisation as well as research into the fundamentals of how molecules interact.
