Summary
Primary open angle glaucoma is the most common form of glaucoma. In this project we will focus on the identification of functional genetic variants influencing development of this disorder, using a powerful whole exome sequencing approach in a large multigenerational pedigree from the Norfolk Island population isolate. The identification of genes influencing glaucoma development would provide invaluable clues to aid in defining the pathophysiology of this common disease.

Cross-Cultural Lives: a Study of Narratives by Migrants Between Languages. This project examines recent autobiographies of non-English-speaking migrants to Australia and investigates ways in which immigrants into a new language are challenged to become different persons, and how particular individuals respond to this challenge. It combines the disciplines of literary, cultural and ethnic studies to address issues profoundly affecting Australia as a multi-ethnic society. Understanding cross-cultural consumer behaviour and implications for effective segmentation, targeting and positioning of Western Australia as a tourism destination. This research extends a model of cross-cultural consumer behaviour suggested by the first CI (Lee, 2000) that provides richer specification of the antecedents of people's actions than previously suggested models. The model will be compared with these models, which have been successful in Western, but less successful in Eastern, cult ....Understanding cross-cultural consumer behaviour and implications for effective segmentation, targeting and positioning of Western Australia as a tourism destination. Estimation of School Cost Functions. The main objective of the project is to determine the efficient school size for government schools. To achieve this cost functions for WA government schools will be estimated. Knowledge of the cost functions will shed light on whether regional non-government schools are disadvantaged by Federal and Sate funding models, the impact of school size and expenditure on outcomes and the extent of savings or costs as the enrolment shares of private and public schools ....Estimation of School Cost Functions.
