In a world first, a computer decision aid is being developed that will link risk factors for fracture and osteoporosis with the latest scientific evidence about investigations and treatment. It’s not just for doctors but also for the public; with a consumer decision aid being developed to place the latest scientific evidence about osteoporosis at your fingertips.

New approaches are needed to address this challenge, including developing financial incentives for consumers to use effective low cost medicines in preference to higher cost alternatives. Taking an example in visual information retrieval, due to the subjective nature of similarity measurements, the distance metrics can vary between different users. People with psychosis have high rates of chronic disease that reduces lifespan by 25 years. The health system struggles to provide adequate care. We developed the Physical Health Nurse Consultant service that provides physical health care coordination and will evaluate whether it improves physical health, consumer experience and cost-effectiveness. Outcomes will directly address policy initiatives to improve physical health service delivery in mental health services.
