Advanced Synthesis System for Two-Dimensional Nanomaterials. Advanced synthesis system for two-dimensional nanomaterials:
This project aims to establish the first synthesis facility in Australia for growing large-area and atomically thin two-dimensional (2-D) nanomaterials including graphene, boron nitride, metal dichalcogenides, metal oxide and nitride nanosheets. Such materials are emerging and innovative materials that possess many properties desirable for energy, electronic, biological, and ....Advanced Synthesis System for Two-Dimensional Nanomaterials.
Such materials are emerging and innovative materials that possess many properties desirable for energy, electronic, biological, and environmental related applications. This facility is designed to underpin breakthrough science by providing high-quality large-sized materials to researchers for both fundamental and application research. This new synthesis capability would foster advances in the fundamental understanding of 2-D nanostructures and the development of devices with broad applications in energy conversion and storage, environmental protection, and life sciences.Read moreRead less
Nanoscale control of energy and matter for future energy-efficient technologies. Unprecedented control of energy and matter in nanoscale fabrication will be achieved using non-equilibrium self-organised plasma-solid systems. The outcomes will lead to energy-efficient, environment- and human-health-friendly production of nanomaterials for future energy, health, information, food, water, environmental and security technologies.

Summary
The liver is important for both digestion and immunity. Given these opposing functions, the liver must exert control points that prevent the immune system from recognising food products. We have now identified a new molecular target that controls the development of immune cells in the liver.
The canonical stratification of jet spaces. Singularities occur everywhere in nature, from the formation and collapse of stars to the morphology of living embryos. They appear whenever the geometry of surfaces or spaces undergoes a process of twisting, folding, or collapsing on itself. They appear whenever the geometry of surfaces or spaces undergoes a process of twisting, folding, or collapsing on itself. Singularity Theory is the study of such phenomena, an important branch of modern mathematics which has close connections with many other branches of mathematics and applied sciences. Singularity Theory lies at the crossroads of the paths connecting the most important areas of applications of mathematics with its most abstract parts. Analytic Singularity Theory is a central part of Singularity Theory. This project would lead to substantially new advancements in Analytic Singularity Theory.Read moreRead less

This project aims to develop nanostructures which employ both high intrinsic nonlinearities and high indices of refraction to create nanophotonic devices. Silicon photonics promises a technological leap forward through efficient photon-photon interactions within lossless dielectric nanoparticles. Light-controlling-light devices open new ways to control light-matter interaction at the nanoscale, which form the basis for many applications from all-optical information processing to biomedical sensing. The expected outcomes will provide Australia with advanced technologies of integrated optical circuits with applications in optical communication networks, bioimaging, solar cells and quantum information technologies.Read moreRead less

Summary
Fabrication strategies for nanophotonic devices. The project will develop novel strategies to engineer nanophotonic entities to control and guide light at the nanoscale. These nanostructures will open up new avenues for integrated multifunctional devices spanning sensing, light emission and quantum communications, positioning Australia at the frontier of nanoscience and quantum technologies.
Early settlements in Upper Burma (Myanmar): an experiment in urban living. This project directly increases access for Australian research to a previously self-isolated nation, Myanmar. It contributes to better understanding of our region and our world by examining how past communities worked together and how they dealt with social and environmental stress.

The project is a collaboration with the Uzbek Academy of Sciences. National benefits to Australia are in international relations and in broadening our understanding of cultural issues in the potentially volatile and politically significant region of Central Asia. The team has developed a high profile in Uzbekistan and internationally, reflecting well on Australia's cultural strengths, international involvement and support for developing countries in Asia. Our research features regularly in the Uzbek media and has the personal approval of President Karimov. We are involved with Zoroastrian and Parsi communities in Australia and overseas, particularly in India and the USA, and our results are published regularly in the community press.Read moreRead less
