2026 ARDC Annual Survey is now open!

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) invites you to participate in a short survey about your interaction with the ARDC and use of our national research infrastructure and services. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and is anonymous. It’s open to anyone who uses our digital research infrastructure services including Reasearch Link Australia.

We will use the information you provide to improve the national research infrastructure and services we deliver and to report on user satisfaction to the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program.

Please take a few minutes to provide your input. The survey closes COB Friday 29 May 2026.

Vascular Contributions To Dementia (VCD-CRE) - A Transformative Approach To Reducing The Burden Of Cognitive Disorders

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $3,000,000.00
    Summary
The total contribution of vascular pathology to dementia is estimated to be as high as 50-70%. The Vascular Contributions to Dementia CRE brings together leading researchers in cerebrovascular disease and dementia to address the most important issues relating to the epidemiology of Vascular Dementia, its robust biomarkers and its treatment and prevention, so as to reduce its overall health burden, and meet the promise of vascular dementia as a truly 'preventable dementia''.

Centre Of Research Excellence In Enhanced Dementia Diagnosis (CREEDD)

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $3,000,000.00
    Summary
The diagnosis of dementia is often difficult, especially in its early stages. The current delays and uncertainties in diagnosing dementia cause anxiety in patients and limit treatment options. A number of new technologies have demonstrated their value in clinical dementia research, but have not been adopted into clinical practice. The Centre of Research Excellence in Enhanced Dementia Diagnosis will provide a pathway to implement new technologies to transform dementia diagnosis in Australia.

Centre Of Research Excellence In Cognitive Health: Evidence, Intervention And Population Modelling

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $2,499,872.00
    Summary
Cognitive health is essential for productivity at all ages. Common chronic diseases such as diabetes, and risk factors such as smoking, can reduce cognitive function and increase risk of cognitive decline. Our Centre aims to build evidence about the things that impact on cognitive health and lead to cognitive decline; to develop methods of reducing cognitive decline; and to measure the impact of cognitive impairment at the national level to inform the government on costs and planning.

Australian Centre For Electromagnetic Bioeffects Research

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $2,499,672.00
    Summary
Addressing the WHO Radiofrequency (RF) Research Agenda, this CRE brings together Australia’s strongest RF-health researchers to safeguard the Australian community within its ever-burgeoning RF exposure environment. It will determine the potential for RF-induced harm in the community and how best to communicate this knowledge to the community, translate this knowledge to the community via focused strategies, and develop Australia’s RF-health research and communication capability for the future.

Australian Centre For Electromagnetic Bioeffects Research

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $2,498,852.00
    Summary
With over 5 billion mobile phone subscriptions world-wide, the electromagnetic energy (EME) that powers this technology is now ubiquitous, as is community concern about the possibility of associated health effects. Responding to this concern, the Australian Centre for Electromagnetic Bioeffects Research will embark on a 5-year research program to promote Australia’s EME health both in the immediate future, and through the development of human research capacity in this field, into the future.

Centre Of Research Excellence In Infectious Diseases Modelling To Inform Public Health Policy

    Funder
National Health and Medical Research Council
    Funding Amount
    $2,600,064.00
    Summary
Infectious diseases pose a global challenge, with substantial human and economic costs. Mathematical models provide valuable frameworks to assess likely benefits of interventions to control infection spread and burden. Leveraging existing NHMRC support, we will expand modeling capability to inform infectious disease control policy in Australia and our region. Focus areas include vaccine preventable disease, respiratory viruses and emerging pathogens, supported by innovative methods development.
